Let’s love one another

Why do so many people
often seem so violent?
No use trying to talk to them,
so we may as well stay silent.

But I am really worried,
as a woman nowadays
cannot walk down any street.
I wish they’d change their ways.

How I wish we could all
live our lives in peace.
Go anywhere you wished to go,
knowing violence had ceased.

Many go out these days
with guns and with knives.
Don’t they value our lovely world
and other people’s lives?

I know that there are problems
in this world of ours.
Like unemployment, no money,
no way to fill those hours.

Life is very hard
for such a lot of people,
but if we could only love each other
life would be more simple.

No-one gains anything
when someone’s life is taken.
The guilty go to prison
leaving innocents grief stricken.

To steal from someone’s house,
things that don’t belong to you.
How would you really feel
if someone did that to you?

This life we live is very short.
We pass this way but once,
so please, lets try to all get on
and please, give peace a chance.
