The People's Princess

Diana, Princess of Wales
was a kind and beautiful soul
who taught us how to love one another
and touched the world as a whole.

To many of us she gave hope.
She taught us all about A.I.D.S.
She shook their hands when no-one else would.
I pray her memory never fades.

She brought home the truth about mines,
showing us those who'd lost limbs.
She was an angel upon our earth.
Without her the world seems so grim.

She had charisma and wherever she went
people turned out to see.
They wanted to shake her hand - show love.
She was the best of the monarchy.

She spoke up for the homeless,
she played a wonderful role.
The royals tried to stop her, we know,
but, to me, she was top of the poll!

When I heard the news that day
that darling Diana had died,
I just couldn't believe it was true
and I slumped in a heap and cried.

The masses of crowds at the funeral
showed how much affection we felt
and it wasn't just the British people,
other cultures prayed and knelt

to show respect to this beautiful woman,
who lost her life in a chase,
because we all wanted Diana's photo.
Now the world is a much sadder place.

We'll never forget you, Diana.
Even though, my love, you're deceased,
this world will always miss you but, in heaven,
I hope you've found peace.
